In Year 3 we are learning about forces and magnets in Science. We think they are fascinating and we want to learn more. We will add information to our blog to help others with their learning. We will add fascinating facts, cool experiments and detailed information. Please add comments to help us with our learning.

We had a wonderful trip to the Science Museum, where we learned about Isaac Newtons 3 Law of Motion. Can you remember what they are?
can we go again plz
I went to the Science Museum and saw magnets. I would like to know more about where magnets come from. Can anyone help me?
dantdm I do not know how magnets stick together sorry .
That’s ok
At Science Museum we learned about a famous scientist but I cannot remember his name, can anybody help me?
If a magnet does not stick it is called repel.
We leaned about forces and magnets and how they work.
It’s amazing how it works
What is the biggest magnet in the world?
I went to the Science Museum and learnt about forces and magnets and it was really fun. We also looked at animal skins which were amazing.
Can you help me I don’t know much about magnets.
There are different shapes of magnets.
I used a horseshoe magnet and it could hold 20 paperclips.
At school we are testing out magnets the horseshoe magnet is the strongest.
Not all metals stick to magnets and North magnets only stick to South magnets.
That’s excellent Dark Knight. You have learnt alot. Which metals do not attract magnets?
i do not think so
There are different shapes of magnets.
I used a horseshoe magnet and it could hold 20 paperclips. Magnets have a north pole and a south pole.
Big magnets are stronger than small magnets.
right?
We tested magnets in both year 3 classes. If a magnet does not stick it is called repel. This means a red end with a red end or a blue end with a blue end will not stick together but will push them apart. A blue end will stick together with a red end.
Great Sophia! Do you know the name for these poles?
Isaac Newton ok Alex.
I think you have chosen the right subject because it is very fascinating and I like it too.
What I would like to know is what is the strongest magnet and the biggest magnet.
If you put two of the same colour magnets together it won’t stick.
It is called repel.
If put two magnets with south and south poles together it repels. If you put two opposite poles together they will attract.
We have been learning about Forces and Magnets in science. Iron and chain stick to a magnet.
3C and 3H went to to the Science musiam , it was fun.
How does magnets repel?
